Director of Acute Pain Services & Chair of the UCSF Pain Committee

Ramana (Ramo) Naidu, MD is an anesthesiologist and pain management specialist. He serves as director of Acute Pain Services, and is the current chair of the UCSF Pain Committee. He helps patients manage, reduce or eliminate pain that occurs after surgery and prevent post-surgery pain from becoming chronic or persistent.

Dr. Naidu is interested in team-based approaches to management and has helped develop enhanced recovery after surgery programs at UCSF. He also cares for patients at the UCSF Pain Management Center, where he treats a range of chronic pain conditions such as back pain, facial pain, musculoskeletal pain, persistent post-operative pain and complex regional pain syndrome. He uses both ultrasound and fluoroscopy to perform his interventional procedures. In addition, he provides outpatient care for children as part of the UCSF Integrated Pediatric Pain and Palliative Care team.
