Bio

Dr. Tracy Jackson completed medical and surgical training at the University of North Carolina. After a brief stint doing anesthesia in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, she decided that treating pain was her calling, and went to Stanford to complete a fellowship in chronic pain management. She is currently an associate professor of anesthesiology and pain medicine at Vanderbilt University where she created and directed their pain fellowship training program and served as associate medical director of the outpatient pain clinics.

She has co-authored guidelines for responsible opioid prescribing in conjunction with the Tennessee Department of Health, is on the Board of Directors of the Tennessee Pain Society, and has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally about chronic pain syndromes and alternatives to opioid-centric management strategies.

Dr. Jackson is working to develop new functional rehabilitation programs going forward, in both clinical and non-clinical settings. These programs combine the best evidence and best providers from all approaches to work with people to help reduce medication use and improve pain, sleep, mood, and function, while reducing healthcare costs.
